Phenomenal experience, service and food. Captain Billy's the actual restaurant is built on piers sitting in the water. We had the Perfect Couples Seafood meal - pound shrimp, four pieces snow crab legs, one side. All delicious and great price.

Ate here during the lunch time and wow, what a great experience. It's very spacious inside (was shocked!) and there is dock/covered patio seating. I wish I remembered our server name, because she was such a sweet older lady with curly hair with a bang. The hush puppies were great and they do give a lot. I enjoyed my crab-legs and half pound of shrimp with a side of french fries and cold slow paired with. The crab-legs had nice meat, although the fries weren't seasoned they were still good lol. My family and I will be back again!

If you're traveling down 301 and need a good seafood meal, very reasonably priced, with excellent friendly service right on the Potomac River, this is the spot for you! We had delicious fried soft shell crabs and fried oysters. Less than 5 min detour from your drive - and choose seating outdoors even if hot. Fans and shade made even 90 degrees enjoyable.

It's hard to separate the food from the view. But really, the view really stole the show. Hanging out on a Friday afternoon outside was lovely. I ordered a crabcake sandwich and corn fritters (with honey). The fritters reminded me of something you get from a carnival, but the crabcake was good. I wish more options were in season when I visited, but what they had available was still plenty good. But more than anything - sit outside!

Captain Billy's is a beautiful scenic place to enjoy seafood with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a little chilly for us, so we decided inside at a table with a waterfront view. We were greeted when we came in, and our party of 5 was immediately seated. Stephanie was our waitress today, and she is amazing. Lively, friendly, helpful with suggestions. She made sure we had our drinks taken care of and our orders in a timely manner. Our table tried quite a bit of food! Appetizers: Captain Billy's Seafood dip - we loved it, and we definitely saw the crab and shrimp throughout. Bread was perfectly toasted and buttered. Jumbo steamed shrimp - they were great. Containers of seasoning were at the table for use along with cocktail sauce and lemons. Mains: Crab cakes dinner - crab meat no filler with fries and veggie of the day (mixed vegetables) Jumbo fried shrimp - perfectly crunchy served with tartar cocktail and fruit-cantaloupe and orange with coleslaw and potato salad. Coleslaw was the perfect amount of sweetness. Potato salad is simple and delicious. Rockfish - our table tried the grilled and fried. The grilled had more seasoning and was more flavorful. Fried was ok, but go with the grilled! Couples feast- pefect amount of crab legs and shrimp for two or a hungry person who wants leftovers! Parking was plentiful with some parking in front of the restaurant and plenty across the small street. Gratuity is included for orders $200+ or parties of 6 or more. Nice spot of you're looking to impress. It's a nice scenic drive if you're coming from the DC metro area. Enjoy!

This is a real, no nonsense Maryland Crabhouse. We ordered a dozen crab and they threw in extra for good measure. Being April and right at the beginning of the season, the crab was fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the old traditional salty vibes. The servers were great and left us alone to do what we do best.. crack some crab shells! Great mixed drinks too. They even had frozen drinks. We will return in the summer, sip frozen drinks and eat more crab.

Order any thing with the word "Crab" in it, is my #1 recommendation. I had the fried soft shell crab cake sandwich when we were there in mid-September (see photo). I was reluctant to order the cold slaw because I don't like it sweet or with to much mayo. Our server said it was good though so I tried it and I'm very glad I did. My sidekick had the crab cake sandwich. Both meals were 5/5. On another occasion I had the fried fish and that is awfully good also and I recommend it especially if it's a local fish on the menu. If it's a warm day, come early if you want to sit dockside. That's the best view. The place ain't fancy, decor wise, but it's mostly about the food for us foodies. This place closes part of the year, so check to make sure they're open.
